Partnership with
Habitat Bellingham

Looking for a way to support immigrant families, help build homes for local residents and get a tax benefit along the way? Our newly-launched partnership with the Habitat Store in Bellingham (1825 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham) will allow you to do just that! Habitat for Humanity operates a store which accepts donations of new and gently used furniture, appliances, household goods and more. Renew Northwest has an arrangement with the Habitat Store which allows YOU to donate your unwanted items which will provide US with store credit to purchase much-needed items for immigrant households. 

When dropping off or arranging pick-up of your donations, simply specify that you want the value of your donated items to be credited to the store account of Renew NW and we will be able to use it for Renew clients when it’s most needed.

Mutual Aid Group

At Renew Northwest, we support families who are moving into permanent housing after starting over with very few belongings. We are seeing a growing need in resourcing basic household items. To help furnish their homes, we will be using a private Facebook group to connect community members with specific furniture and household item needs. Group members can donate items they already have, look for items through Buy Nothing groups or Marketplace, or help source items locally for families preparing to move in. How it works:

  1. We post a need

    Example: “A family moving in next Friday needs a toddler bed.”

  2. Community members help find the item
    You can donate something you already have or help source it locally.

  3. We coordinate delivery

  4. Our staff will arrange a time for the item to be dropped off at our office or delivered directly to the family on move-in day.
