Join our May Direct Impact Fund Drive!

During the month of May, we are focused on launching a fund to directly support our newest neighbors. Having begun our client services earlier this year, we’ve seen multiple ways in which a relatively small amount of direct assistance money could go a long way toward helping an immigrant family or individual achieve stability:

• Deposit assistance to secure an apartment for a family that is newly-arrived to the community

• Paying legal filing fees for someone to apply for or renew their employment authorization, to ensure they can support themselves

• Covering emergency housing costs such as a hotel stay for a family living unsheltered while they wait for other options to become available

• Assisting with car repairs to enable a client to have reliable transportation to work

While there are other organizations that can assist with some of these expenses, the challenge of navigating and applying for such help can be daunting for those with language or immigration-related barriers.

A Direct Impact Fund will give us the flexibility to provide temporary, strategic assistance in a timely fashion to the families and individuals we serve. It will be a crucial bridge to self sufficiency as well as longer-term (but harder to access) assistance that other organizations can provide.

And great news! A donor has already committed a $5,000 matching gift to help us get started with this fund, so every dollar you donate up to $5,000 will be doubled!
